Description
If you are updating an AR Cloud virtual appliance, starting with version 11.15.0, please read through the following information:

Note: This does not apply if you are updating to 11.15 on an xx70 or xx80 hardware appliance.
Solution
A) Below are the supported instance types on AWS and Azure:

     1) The only model that is uspported for AWS is c5n.4xlarge
     2) The only model that is supported for Azure is F16s_v2

B) Below are the supported storage types on AWS and Azure:

     1) The recommended storage for AWS is ST1. Customers need to deploy a disk of 7TiB or larger.
     2) The recommended storage for Azure is E60 or larger. E60 has a fixed size of 8TiB. If required, larger disks could also be used.

The old instance types would no longer be under support (Except during the update.)

C) Information regarding update to 11.15 (Update workflow):

In order to update, customers will have to deploy new instance types directly.

The workflow for update is as follows:

     1) Update AR11 running on an old instance to 11.15.
     2) Backup the configuration data using Backup and Restore.
     3) Deactivate licenses on old VM.
     4) Deploy a new VM using the recommended instance/storage type.
     5) Activate licenses on new instance.
     6) Restore configuration data to the new VM.

Please Note: Old traffic data will be lost.

To guarantee advertised performance, the capture side of the system needs to be CPU isolated so that, other components, like packet analysis, won't interfere with it.
The above scenario could happen in the following two cases:

     a)  At the first boot
     b) If the machine is moved by the user (to a different region)

Therefore, a reboot will be required after this operation.
