Issue

On adding NetSensor 3.0 as a datasource on SteelCentral Portal 1.0 and above, we may see the error below:

Login Invalid: An error occurred during authentication.

Solution

SteelCentral Portal uses SteelCentral Authentication Service(SCAS) while NetSensor 3.0 uses AAM by default. The issue appears to occur due to the difference in the type of authentication service used.

To further confirm, look for the following error in the latest LiveUpdateServer logs in Netsensor(C:\Riverbed\ASnX\3.0.0_xxxx\log)

INFO [ac.send,HttpRequestSender::sendEnvelope: HTTPEXCEPTION: Failed to send request: com.makesys.common.efc.xmlcom.http.b: Connection refused: connect Cause: null

INFO [XmlComClient.sendRequest,Failed to send a LUS request of subtype AAM_AUTH_REQEXCEPTION [com.makesys.common.efc.xmlcom.http.b: Connection refused: connect

To resolve this issue, please configure NetSensor to use SCAS as its Authentication service. This procedure is covered in the following KB Article:

S26705: NetCollector/NetSensor to use SteelCentral Authentication Service

Environment

Windows Server 2008

Windows Server 2012
