How to install NetAuditor full and NetAuditor Desktop (with task launcher) on the same machine

Solution

  •  Install NetAuditor full, e.g., into C:\Riverbed.
  •  Go to Windows start menu Riverbed SteelCentral NetAuditor 18.0 and stop NetAuditor 18.0 service.
  • In Windows start menu, search regedit and launch registry editor.
  • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Wow6432Node->OPNET Technologies->OPNET->18.0.
  • Change the value of “install_mode” from web to desktop.
  • Install NetAuditor desktop. When prompted to specify installation folder, accept the default value and proceed the installation. Example: If you installed NetAuditor full into C:\Riverbed, you should see C:\Riverbed\NetAuditor\bladeEngine. Do NOT change this.
  • In registry editor, change the value of install_mode you modified in step #5 back to web.
  • Go to Windows start menu Riverbed SteelCentral NetAuditor 18.0 and start NetAuditor 18.0 service.
