Before we can optimize HTTPS traffic to/from an IIS 7 web server, we'll first have to import the server's SSL certificate into the server side Steelhead, the steps to perform the export are listed below.

Solution
1. On the Start menu click Run and then type mmc and click OK.
2. Click File > Add/Remove Snap-in.
3. Click Certificates > Add.
4. Select Computer Account then click Next. Select Local Computer then click Finish. Then click OK to close the Add/Remove snap-in window.
5. Click the + to expand the certificates (local computer) console tree, then expand the Personal folder and select the Certificates folder.
6. Right-click on the certificate you want to backup and select All Tasks > Export...
7. Click Next, then select "Yes, export the private key" and click Next.
8. Tick the box to "Include all certificates in certificate path if possible" and click Next.
Warning: Do not select the delete private key option.
9. Key in a password and note it down somewhere as it is required later. Click Next.
10. Choose the path to save the file and then click Next and Finish. You should receive a "The export was successful" message. The .pfx file is now saved to the location you selected.
