Changing License (or Maintenance) Expiration of an OPNET License Using the Express Method

OPNET 7.0 and later only

Solution
  1. Start the OPNET License Manager.  On Windows, use the Start>Programs>OPNET..>License Manager.  On UNIX, use the command op_license_manager.

  1. In the License Manager, expand the license file by clicking on the "+" sign next to the License file folder icon. Select the license you want to change by clicking on it (use control-click or click-drag to select multiple licenses).  Then click on the Change License Expiration (or Maintenance) button on the right side of the box.

  1. When prompted, click on the Express button.  This method is easiest and fastest.

  1. Enter your Riverbed Username, Password, and Group ID in the appropriate fields. If you dont have a Riverbed Username, password, please sign up for one from the Riverbed Support site and then perform these license operations.

  1. If the computer uses a proxy server, click on the Specify Proxy button and fill in the information.

  1. This box appears while the license expiration date is changed on your computer.

  1. This box appears after the license expiration date is changed on your computer.

What if the Express Method does not work?

  • Sometimes the Express Method fails due to firewall restrictions, socket or proxy errors, or the transaction timeouts.  Don't worry; there are other ways to change license expiration.  Click here for Browser Method.
